Review: Flanci winter fleece leggings

Written by Fiona

I am already a fan of the Flanci skort for most months of the year, whether running or walking. But in winter, I need a bit more warmth so I’ve been trialling the Flanci winter fleece leggings. The leggings are full length and have a light fleece-back.

You get the usual excellent Flanci details, including two side pockets on the thighs, a zipped rear waistband pocket and high-rise waistband. There is a drawstring, too, if you want to tighten the waist. (Remember to use the toggle fastener because otherwise you end up losing one end of the cord inside the waistband.)

In addition, the leggings have flat-lock seams for comfort and a built-in gusset for a more flattering (“modest”) look.

They are sold in a range of different designs but you do need to order the tights and wait up to five weeks for them to arrive at your home.

The size range is a very generous XXS to XXXL. I have the S and I am usually a UK10. You can order in regular, tall or shorter length.

The price is £40.99 (you can use my 10% discount code FIONA10 as well).

My thoughts: Flanci winter fleece leggings

I love the Flanci designs and colours and chose one of my favourite designs, the Texa, for the winter leggings. I also have a pair in Oxna that a friend gave to me.

The fit is lovely and the leggings are very, very comfortable to wear. The light fleece back to the lycra fabric is soft and warming. I have been wearing the leggings for winter mountain hikes and also for general everyday wear. I get chilly sitting at my desk and the tights work really well to keep me warm.

When I am out and about I like to have my phone easily accessible. My large iPhone sits in the thigh pocket. I find the tights do fall down a bit when I have the phone in my pocket so I need to tie the waist cord. The thigh pockets are such a great detail with Flanci products.

The zipped rear pocket is good for securing valuables, such as a car key. I don’t notice the key in the pocket because it sits neatly in the rear waistband.

The tights fit neatly but not too tightly and they are offer really good freedom of movement. I find that every pair of tights I own fall down a little when I run. Using the tie cord at the waistband helps to minimise this.

Whenever I wear Flanci products I have people asking me about the garment and wondering where they can buy them. Today, when enjoying a coffee at a cafe in Cromarty this happened. Another customer asked me where the “fantastic looking” leggings came from.

If in doubt, buy a size smaller than you might normally because I find the Flanci sizings quite generous. You can also choose a longer or shorter length if you need to.

Flanci products tick many boxes for me. They are bright and fun (I do not like dull colours or designs) and they are tried-and-tested comfortable and practical. I am already enjoying the colder season activities in my Flanci winter-warm leggings.
