I have been testing the Outwell Constellation Duvet Lux Double, which is suitable for camping or campervans and motorhomes. This is the sort of duvet that you would use for campsite-stye camping rather than backpacking and wild camping.

My thoughts: Outwell Constellation Duvet Lux Double
I was looking for a duvet for my campervan and Outwell were hapy to provide me with one to test. I get cold at night, even in summer, so I wanted a warm bedcover but also a product that feels lightweight and is easy to store.
The Constellation Duvet is really lovely. It feels light and airy on top of me, yet still gives really good warmth. I have used it when it’s zero degrees outside the van and I still slept cosily.
The fabric is also a joy. It is silky to touch.
You can pack the duvet away in its own zipped storage cube, or do as I do and stuff it into a compartment under the bed.
There are only a couple of potential negatives. The duvet does not have a cover. You could add a cover or you can wash it in the washing machine. It’s quite a large item to add to a washing machine but it does wash and dry well. Having to wash an entire duvet instead of just the cover is not financially economic, nor environmentally friendly but many people use a sleeping bag for years without washing it.
One tip is to add a sheet between yourself and the duvet to keep it cleaner for longer.
If you prefer to feel the weight of a duvet on you, then the Constellation is not for you. It’s lightweight and, as i said, I like this but I know some people prefer a heavier feeling duvet for a good night’s sleep.
The duvet might be too warm for summer use in a campervan but I think it would still be a great idea for camping year-round. It depends on how cold you tend to become at night. In any case, there are other lighter weights of duvet in the Outwell collection.
The price seems reasonable for a good quality camping duvet that can be used many times and is versatile for both camping trips and campervan adventures.
The duvet also looks good and keeps its soft plumpness well, even after many nights of use.
