Scottish runner Megan Keith’s superb win at last week’s Night of the 10km PBs underlines the talent of the athletes who will be hoping to compete at this summer’s Paris Olympics 2024.

Megan, 22, of Inverness, needed a top two British finish at the championships in London to achieve the selection standard but she showed her incredible strength when she surged past runner-up American athlete Fiona O’Keeffe in the finishing straight to record a time of 31:03.02.

The track and field athletes for for Team GB are not announced until July 5 for Paris 2024 but Megan’s place looks secure.

Beth Potter will compete in triathlon at Paris 2024.

Another Scottish talent, Beth Potter, has a confirmed place in Team GB in triathlon. Beth, of Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, previously competed in track at the Olympic Games in Rio, in 2016. The 32-year-old only switched to triathlon seven years ago but has had fantastic success.

So far, 69 athletes have been selected for Team GB. As well as Beth, there are five Scottish swimmers and another two swimmers who are training with Scottish programmes.

Kathleen Dawson, Keanna MacInnes, Duncan Scott, Lucy Hope and Katie Shanahan (all University of Stirling), have qualified for the Olympics.

Joining them are Breaststroker Angharad Evans and Freestyler Jack McMillan, who are  members of the University of Stirling High Performance squad.

In the sailing team, James Peters will compete with Fynn Sterritt, from Inverness, in the  Men’s Skiff (49er).

Paris 2024 marks a third consecutive Games for Stephen, while it’s a second Paralympics for Toni and Louis.

Your support for Team GB

Perhaps you have tickets for Paris 2024 and are lucky enough to be heading to France in July. If not, many people will be supporting the athletes from home by tuning into the Olympics via BBC coverage, both live and on iPlayer.

The brand adidas is the official sportswear provider of Team GB and ParalympicsGB. They have supplied the team kit that the athletes will wear at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

It’s possible to buy the Adidas official kit as part of a Road to Paris Olympics collection. It includes sports and casual wear, as well as a range of accessorises and merchandise. Why not partner a sport outfit for running with a new pair of adidas women’s running shoes or men’s running shoes?
