Outdoor brand Rab has announced a new partnership with the Jonathan Conville Memorial Trust (JCMT), which is a UK-based charity that introduces young people to climbing and mountaineering.

JCMT has spent 40years focused on training people in the skills and techniques required to safely advance to Alpine or Scottish winter environments.

The partnership, built on the shared aim of making mountains more accessible to the younger generation, will commence with the 2025 JCMT courses.
Neil McAdie, Chair of Trustees at the JCMT, welcomed the collaboration. He said: “The JCMT is delighted to have the backing of such a respected UK outdoor brand.

“Both Rab and the JCMT work to equip enthusiasts for the mountains, so in many ways this is a natural partnership. Rab’s support means that we can continue to offer young people the essential grounding in mountain safety that leads to a lifetime of enjoyment.”

Jon Frederick, Marketing Director at Rab, owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd, added: “We are excited about our new partnership with the JCMT. At Rab, we strongly believe in the mountains as a space that can empower young people, creating long-lasting memories and providing important skills not only for safe climbing and mountaineering but also for confidently tackling life’s challenges. In the JCMT, we have found an excellent partner who shares our values.”
As the official clothing and equipment partner, Rab will support JCMT with appropriate kit for course delegates, pre-event course preparation, product education through webinars and increasing the accessibility of the brilliant courses hosted by the JCMT.
