Three days, nine more Munros near Ullapool

After the disappointment of the Fisherfield Munros attempt, the G-Force and I made the most of a window of fine weather in north-west Scotland to hike nine Munros over three days.

This is a photo record of the hikes. They were all long but offered many stunning views.

Day one: Two Munros

We walked two of the summits in the Fannichs, Sgurr Breac and A’Chailleach, near Braemore.

Stunning sunset from the Ullapool campsite.

Day two: Four Munros

Beinn Dearg is the highest peak on a hike of four Munros, also including Cona Mheall, Meall nan Ceapraichean and Eididh nan Clach Geala.

G makes a superb packed lunch for the walk.

A spot of work back at the van!

Day three: Three Munros

Located on the other ide of the glen from the Munros of Day one, we hiked three more Fannichs, Meall a’ Chrasgaidh, Sgurr nan Clach Geala and Sgurr nan Each. We walked along the glen before climbing up the side of the furthest away Munro and then hiked back over the ridge towards the start.

Adapted trainer due to sore Achilles.
