Glen Devon is located near Dollar and Gleneagles in central Scotland. This walk of 10 miles takes in Tarmangie Hill and Innerdowie, which are classified as Donalds, as well as Ben Shee hill. The total ascent is around 600m.
The Donalds were defined in 1935 by Scottish Mountaineering Club member Percy Donald as “Scottish Lowlands mountains more than 2000ft (609.6m) in height”. It’s said this is the height required to be called a mountain in Britain. The Donalds must also have a prominence of at least 100ft (30.5m).
The route starts at the Woodland Trust’s Glen Sherup car park, about a mile west of Glendevon.
I walked the circuit with my friend Ben and we enjoyed easy-to-follow paths and wonderful views. We followed this Walk Highlands route clockwise.
