Fiona Outdoors logo My independent guide to the best of Scotland outdoors

I want to be as outdoorsy when I’m 70-odd!

Written by Fiona February 24 2014

I read recently, and disagreed, with Jane Fonda – she of the bonkers 1970s “feel the burn” fitness workouts – who is now keen to tell her fellow 70-something peers to slow down and listen to their aged bodies. I decided to report on some of the inspiring septuagenarians who I’ve across in my life and work to prove that age is no barrier to staying fit and active in the great outdoors.

In fact, Scotland’s hills have been the perfect playground to help keep Jim, Derek and Anne running, walking, mountain biking and skiing into their later years. Here’s what I wrote in my Sunday Mail column at the weekend.
