On film: Mark Beaumont’s North Coast 500 ride

In August I wrote about Mark Beaumont riding the Scottish North Coast 500 route. He did the 500 miles non-stop. Now there is a video that has been launched in association with Wildfox Events.

Mark, from Perthshire, first hit the spotlight after breaking the Guinness World Record for the 18,000 mile around-the-world bike ride. Having continued to break various cycling records, Mark took on a new challenge in September, the new North Coast 500 Scottish coastal route.

The film delves into Mark’s emotional and physical journey across the route and illustrates the unreserved beauty of the northern Highlands. Cycling through the night while battling rain, wind and shine, Mark completed the NC500 in just under 38 hours. Mark said at the time, “That was one of the toughest challenges I have ever experienced.”
