Go Outdoors highlight trend for practical-fashion clothing combos
The retailer Go Outdoors reckons there is something of a new trend for combining warm, technical gear with fashion clothing to create seasonal and practical looks. Maybe more people are doing this these days but I have been doing so most of my life!
One excellent trend that I have noticed, however, is that outdoor clothing for women in the 21st century is a lot funkier, brighter and all-round wearable.I like the bright colours and the beautiful designs of many outdoor clothing products.
If it’s cold or wet outside I don’t hesitate to pop on a practical outdoor clothing item, such as a Gore-Tex waterproof jacket or a down jacket (usually in a bright blue, pink or orange colour way), combined with jeans or a skirt and leggings.
I wear brightly coloured trainers, hats, buffs, beanies and gloves with almost every outfit and my walking boots are always on standby for a local dog walk or a stroll to the pub in wet or cold Scottish weather.
I don’t hesitate to combine running tights with trainers, boots or wellies plus a fleece, waterproof jacket of down jacket, depending on what the weather, and even if I am simply going to the supermarket, rather than for a hill walk.
If this mix-and-match concept of combining everyday clothing, such as jeans and sweatshirts, with outdoor practical clothing is new to some people then perhaps I should consider myself to be one of the fashion leaders! Now that’s a first for me!
