Looking to get together with friends, co-workers, or students? The traditional gathering space works fine but there are certain limitations that come with the space. An excellent idea is to move the gathering outside and make the most of the great outdoors.

If you haven’t done so before, there are more reasons than you may have realised to make the move. The next time you have a work, school, or personal gathering, here are the biggest reasons to make that gathering an outdoor one.

Better Productivity

Though there are perks to an event venue in London, there is nothing like getting outdoors to get things done. The goal of meeting in a business sense is to ensure that everything gets taken care of with the utmost productivity in mind. While an office space serves a purpose, there is nothing like being outdoors.

There have been studies showing that getting out into nature can improve concentration and task performance. Even 29 minutes outdoors can help to enhance productivity. If you want to get the most out of your team, hold a meeting outside once in a while. It will be something that your team looks forward to and can become the kind of thing that galvanises a group.

Feel Better

All of the aforementioned gatherings can come with some level of stress involved. Sitting in a small room having to get work done or trying to teach a class can sometimes add to that stress level. Finding a way to implement relaxation and improved mood can go a long way toward helping to achieve greater results.

Holding an outdoor event can be a great way to make things feel more relaxed than they normally would. Nature has been linked to improved well-being, mainly because the additional vitamin D can help regulate your brain’s serotonin levels. Nature can also help you to feel more connected and less isolated. That increased feeling of connection can aid in combatting feelings of depression and loneliness.

Less Stress

Speaking of stress, it can be something that derails even the most well-thought-out planning. Things can and will go wrong, leading to additional stress. That stress has the capability of ruining a class, work, and a million other things. By getting outdoors, it is possible to reduce stress levels attached to those types of gatherings.

Getting outside and spending time in nature is an effective tool in decreasing stress. Whether it be a park, forest, or walking down a trail, being around trees and plants can provide a sense of calm. Exposure to nature has been proven to lower heart rate, blood pressure, and even cortisol levels. That’s not even mentioning the fact that reduced stress can lead to improved focus, which can be great for getting work (or schoolwork) done.

Fresh Air

Still not convinced about how effective it can be to get outside and enjoy the outdoors? There is a list of health benefits that can wind up proving beneficial not only with your work or schoolwork, but your overall health. Fresh air does us good, but did you know that it can improve cognitive function as well?

Adding a bit of fresh air to your day can pay dividends. It can aid in digestion because additional oxygen flows through the body to improve digestion. It can also allow your lungs to expand more, improving overall lung function. Finally, it helps to prevent infection and airborne illness, strengthening your immune system in the process. Get outside, feel better, and work better than you could ever achieve in the confines of an office or classroom.
