Have you tried?: Cyclocross

Cyclocross is off-road cycle racing on bikes that look like road racers but have more knobbly tyres. The race courses are generally muddy and include obstacles that require you to get off the bike and run, while carrying your bike.  That’s a very basic explanation and you can read more about the sport in my Sunday Mail column.

Cyclocross comes into its own in winter when the racing season offers an event almost every weekend in Scotland. In 2015, there are more cyclocross races than ever before and across all age ranges and both men and women.
